By the end of this course, you will have met all the requirements to apply for certification and will have shared in many moments of reflection and consultation to enrich your understanding and practice of EMDR Therapy.

What to Expect When You Collaborate with Beyond Healing Institute for EMDR Certification

We’ve intentionally redesigned our EMDR Certification Consultation Program to align with updated EMDRIA standards while creating a more focused, relational, and clinically meaningful learning experience.

This is not a large cohort model. This is a small, high-touch consultation experience designed to support your growth as an EMDR clinician.

Program Highlights

  • 12 EMDRIA Advanced Training Hours
  • All consultation hours required for EMDRIA Certification included in one program
  • 10 hours of group consultation and 10 hours of individual consultation

A More Focused Consultation Experience

We’ve moved away from large cohorts and triadic consultation models to create a more intentional structure that prioritizes depth, connection, and individualized feedback.

Each cohort includes only three participants, allowing for meaningful case consultation, individualized clinical feedback, and greater opportunity for your voice and clinical work to be seen and supported.

Consultation Structure

Your consultation experience includes a combination of small group sessions and individualized consultation time, intentionally integrated throughout the program.

Biweekly Group Consultation

  • 10 total 90-minute group consultation sessions
  • Each session includes both group consultation and dedicated individual focus time
  • Designed to support application of the EMDR Standard Protocol and advanced clinical decision-making

Individual Consultation

  • Initial individual consultation to orient and support treatment planning
  • Two extended session reviews
  • Final individual consultation to support readiness for EMDRIA Certification
  • Additional individualized consultation time embedded within group sessions

This structure ensures you receive the full balance of collaborative learning and personalized clinical support required for certification.

EMDRIA Certification Requirements

  1. Complete EMDRIA Approved Basic Training
  2. Maintain an independent license as a mental health professional. A PLPC may start the process of certification but cannot apply until they are fully licensed.
  3. Must have at least two years of experience in your field of license.
  4. Conduct at least 50 EMDR sessions with at least 25 clients.
  5. Complete 20 hours of consultation by an EMDRIA Approved Consultant in EMDR. (No more than 10 of these hours can be done in a group).
  6. Consultants in Training can provide up to 15 hours of consultation; the remaining five hours must be with an approved consultant.
  7. Receive a letter of recommendation from one or more EMDRIA Approved Consultant(s) in EMDR, regarding your utilization of EMDR with clients.
  8. Receive two letters of recommendation regarding your professional utilization of EMDR (if possible), ethics in practice, and professional character. These can be obtained from colleagues or peers.
  9. Complete 12 hours of EMDRIA Credits (continuing education in EMDR).
