Counseling at Beyond Healing Center
Does Beyond Healing Center accept insurance?
Most of our counselors operate on a self-pay basis. A small number of our clinicians are in-network with Cox HealthPlans. If you would like to use your Cox coverage, we can verify benefits and connect you with an in-network provider when available. We are not in-network with Medicaid or Medicare, including MO HealthNet, and we cannot bill those programs directly. If you have private insurance with out-of-network benefits, we can provide a superbill for possible reimbursement. See our insurance and payment information for details. Beyond Healing Psychiatry bills separately and has its own insurance list.
What payment options do you accept?
We accept cash, check, card, and HSA/FSA or other benefits cards. You can add a payment method through the client portal, or our team can help you set one up.
What are the rates for therapy?
Rates vary based on provider level: Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) at the standard rate, Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselors (PLPCs) at a reduced rate, and interns as the most affordable option. Some providers also offer sliding scale spots depending on availability. Contact us for details.
Do you offer retreats or EMDR intensives?
We no longer offer retreats. EMDR intensives are still possible. An intensive is any EMDR session longer than the standard 60 minutes, and it makes room to work more directly with what brought you in. Intensives are planned between you and your therapist inside an established therapeutic relationship. An intensive is not a stand-alone service that can be purchased as a one-off. Beyond Healing Center is in our Downtown Springfield location at 325 South Avenue, Springfield, MO 65806. Beyond Healing Psychiatry is less than a block away at 323 South Patton Avenue.

Who provides psychiatric care?
Brandon Finley, MSN, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, provides psychiatric care at Beyond Healing Psychiatry.
Does Beyond Healing prescribe medication?
Yes, through Beyond Healing Psychiatry. We built Beyond Healing Psychiatry to partner with people in their wellness journey, with psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Medication decisions are made collaboratively. Our psychiatric providers lead this area with expertise and responsibility, and the conversation includes your goals. If you have a therapist, at Beyond Healing Center or anywhere else, and you want them involved, we partner with them. You do not need to be a Center client: Beyond Healing Psychiatry accepts referrals from outside the Center. It has its own intake, its own insurance list, and its own phone line: (417) 641-2406. Separately, Beyond Healing Center offers medication consultation: a 30-minute conversation with a psychiatric pharmacist about how your medications interact and affect you. It is open to anyone, and it is not a prescribing appointment.

Training with Beyond Healing Institute
Can I train online with BHI?
Yes. Most of our trainings are in person or virtual: the same training runs in the room in Springfield and live on Zoom at the same time, and you choose one for the whole training. The content is identical either way, and you will never be asked to travel for part of a training and attend the rest online. Some offerings, including our home study courses, are virtual only.
Which dates would I need to be in Springfield?
None, unless you want to be. Our trainings are delivered in the room and on Zoom at the same time, so you can attend the entire training from anywhere. If you would rather join us in person, you are welcome at 325 South Avenue, Springfield, MO.
What is EMDR Basic Training, and how is it structured?
EMDRIA-approved foundational training in the full 8-phase EMDR protocol, for licensed and pre-licensed clinicians.
- Format: In person or virtual. 5 days, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:30pm Central. Attend in person at 325 South Avenue, Springfield, MO or live on Zoom, and use the one you pick for all five days.
- Hours: 20 hours of instruction and 20 hours of practicum, plus 10 hours of required group consultation afterward. The consultation is fully virtual and included in the price.
- Also included: LMS access and a hard copy of the manual.
- CE credit: 40 NBCC hours (NBCC ACEP #7160), 40 MO-NASW, and EMDRIA-approved.
- Tuition: $1,650, or $1,600 paid in full, with a payment-plan option.
What is SIP training, and how is it structured?
SIP I, Somatic Integration & Processing. In person or virtual, 3 days, 8:30am to 5:30pm Central. 21 NBCC hours, 10 EMDRIA Advanced, 21 MO-NASW. Tuition $700, or $650 paid in full, with a payment-plan option.
SIP II, Healing the Fragmented Self. Also 3 days, building on SIP I to cover complex trauma and dissociation. 21 NBCC hours and 10 EMDRIA Advanced.
Do I need EMDR training before taking SIP?
No. SIP is open to any licensed or pre-licensed clinician, including clinicians coming from other somatic or relational backgrounds with no EMDR training at all.
Can I attend part of a training?
No. Full attendance is required for CE credit, with your camera on if you are joining on Zoom. You choose in person or virtual for the whole training rather than switching between the two.
How do I know if seats are still available?
Zoom seats are not capped, so there is always room to join online. In-person seats are limited by the size of the room, so contact us to confirm a seated spot before you register.
How do I get my certificate?
Your certificate is emailed to you after you complete the post-training feedback survey.
I registered but don’t know what to do next.
Everything you need, including links, materials, and the schedule, is in the Beyond Healing Community. Sign in with the email address you registered with, and if you cannot get in, contact us and we will sort it out.
How do I know your CEUs apply to my license?
We are an NBCC-Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP #7160) and EMDRIA-approved, and our EMDR and SIP trainings also carry MO-NASW hours. Requirements vary by state and license type, so check with your licensing board. We will provide whatever documentation they need.
Tell me about the EMDR Certification & Consultation Program.
For clinicians who have completed EMDR Basic Training and are pursuing EMDRIA certification.
- What is included: all 20 required EMDRIA consultation hours, 10 group and 10 individual. You do not arrange or pay for the individual hours separately.
- Structure: 13 modules delivered through Beyond Healing Community, with biweekly 90-minute group sessions. Recorded session review is part of the program, under a signed client consent form.
- Consultants: our groups are led by EMDRIA-approved Consultants.
- CE credit: 12 EMDRIA Advanced hours.
- Tuition: $2,000, or $1,950 paid in full, with a payment-plan option.
Do I need to be fully licensed to enroll in the certification program?
No. Full, unsupervised licensure is required to apply to EMDRIA for certification status, not to enroll in or complete our consultation program. Many clinicians finish our program before they are fully licensed and then apply to EMDRIA once their full license comes through.
EMDRIA also requires at least 50 EMDR sessions with at least 25 different clients. That caseload can build during and after the program. It does not need to be complete before you start.
